Leaderboards and fair play

Coming soon

Leaderboards are not switched on yet. This guide describes how they will work once they are, so nothing here is live in the app today. Everything else you log carries on exactly as it is.

How rankings are grouped

Boards are split by water body, region and species, and ranked on heaviest fish, longest fish, number of catches or number of sessions.

You can look at all time, this year or this month, which keeps things open for anglers who started recently.

Why the water body matters

Rankings group by the water you selected when you started the session. Picking the existing entry rather than typing a new spelling is what puts you on the same board as everyone else fishing there.

Plausibility checks

Every catch is measured against sensible length and weight ranges for that species. A fish well outside them is flagged.

A flagged catch stays in your own log and your own history. It is simply left out of leaderboards and competitive stats.

Optional photo verification

If you tick the verification box when logging, FishingStat AI compares your photo against the species and size you entered. Catches that pass carry a mark that says so.

It is opt in, and it exists so an honest big fish has something backing it up.

Staying off the leaderboards

If you would rather not appear at all, turn off Show on leaderboards in Settings. Your catches, stats and records still work exactly as before, they just stay yours.
