Getting started
This is the short version of setting up FishingStat. It takes about two minutes, and most of it you only ever do once.
Create an account
You can sign up with an email address and a password, or with your Google account if you would rather not remember another password. The account is free and there is no trial to keep track of.
An account is what keeps your catches safe. Everything you log is stored on our side, so a lost or replaced phone does not take your fishing history with it.
Confirm your email address
After signing up you will get an email with a confirmation link. Open it once and you are done.
If it has not arrived after a few minutes, check the spam folder. It usually landed there rather than nowhere.
Find your way around
The bar at the bottom holds the five places you will use most: Home, AI, Gear, Stats and Gallery.
Home is the screen you will open at the water, because that is where you start a session. Everything else can wait until you are back in the car.
Set your language
FishingStat works in English, Serbian and Hungarian. Open Settings and pick the one you want, and the whole app changes over, including species names where we have them.
The website has its own language switcher in the top bar, so you can read the site in one language and use the app in another if that suits you.
Units, country and your name
Temperature follows your country by default, so most people never touch it. If you want Celsius or Fahrenheit specifically, set it in Settings.
Fill in your country and region while you are there. It is what lets us show you regional leaderboards and pull the right weather.
Your display name is what other anglers see on leaderboards and on any catch card you share, so pick something you are happy to be known by.
Cannot find what you need?
Tell us what you were trying to do and we will help, and fix the guide while we are at it.
